Description
FreeStyle riding – riding with a loose rein - is an essential component of any well-rounded horsemanship education. In fact, here at Parelli, we think it’s so important that we’ve based half of our entire in-saddle program on FreeStyle! As your riding skills improve and your horse gains confidence, you’ll have more fun together than you ever thought possible. And really, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Riding without contact teaches horses self-control, confidence and relaxation under saddle and riders better balance and control. FreeStyle solves riding issues, such as:
Bucking, bolting, spooking, rearing, won’t go, won’t stop, and head-tossing.

FreeStyle includes six DVDs (Level-by-Level lessons with Pat, as well as student lessons). Along with these DVDs, FreeStyle includes a 40-page Savvy Manual that explains the “what” and the “why” of FreeStyle, and a 23-page Student Booklet.

The Student Pack also includes five detailed pocket guides and a Patterns map. From mounting and dismounting all the way up to flying lead changes and bareback riding, it’s all here in FreeStyle.

Student lessons really great

While the content isn't new, the format is and I think this new format really works. I love the student lessons and personally it is the student lessons that I am finding most beneficial - Pat just makes everything look so easy and sometimes it is the simple things that are the hardest!!! I have the previous Levels DVDs but think this DVD was a worthwhile investment

Way more than riding...

My horse, at 9 years old, never saddled or ridden, I bought the Savvys Program and graduated Level 2 last year. I was super happy as he, as a level 2 horse is an amazing trail horse and we have even done well at Cowboy Clinics. But being a dog trainer, I do have a love of training & behavior, so when I discovered Level 3, I was completely inspired! My horse riding experience growing up was kick and pull and I had no idea that someone could even ride a turn without pulling! Or stop without a bit in the horses mouth. That was 2 years ago! I’m so proud of me and my boy for doing this together. We were green on green and thankfully, due mostly to his good nature, we were never black and blue. This has been the most challenging Savvy level for me this far as I’m not a schooled rider. I am SO happy about learning how to ride! My horse and I BOTH got trained! Because of our more remote location and lack of funds, we have never been able to have a lesson but through the Savvys Program, Savvy Club & Connect – the answers were always there. And I learned SO much more along the way. Way more than riding… for sure!

Worthwhile

As a long time Parelli student(10+years Passed L3) I wasn't sure that there would be anything new for me in this Dvd set, and I suppose there wasn't anything "new" except the presentation. Everything is put in such a logical simple progression that I could easily see the areas of the program that I was skimping on, and how it was negatively effecting my progress in other areas. Concepts that I found difficult or unclear before are set out in such a way that I finally understand both the how and why of using certain techniques. The Dvds also cover areas that I had heard of from other trainers, but had not seen much about in Parelli material (riding diagonals for example) and so I had assumed was not very important in natural horsemanship. Boy was I wrong, and now I have a lot of practice to do! I haven't even gotten to the L4 videos yet, and I have had so many ah-hah moments already.

These new packs really are excellent. The Freestyle has made a huge difference to my progression and my motivation. I really look forward to going to play with my horse these days and I always have a plan. These new packs really show how everything fits together logically and much more clearly, I think, that any of the other educational DVDs. I was sceptical at first because they were so expensive and it just seemed like yet more DVDs but I've now bought them all and these will be my Bible for a long time! And it helps that they've come down in price! Thank you, Parelli!

After having studied the freestyle pack (though I'm going to go over it one million times again), I learned so much, and have a lot of ideas for what to do in freestyle. In the savvy pack dvds, Pat shows us in detail everything we would want to know about freestyle and Linda explains things in more detail, gives us tips and common pitfalls. And then in the student pack dvds, there is a student learning from Pat, which one of the benefits is that it offers a more realistic view of what it's like to learn the program.'
