Our Natural Hackamore is hand-tied and crafted from soft-yet-durable rope and combines a halter, loop reins and a 12-Foot lead rope in one effective piece of tack that can be used on the ground or in the saddle.
The Natural Hackamore is available in the following colors with Black
Reins: Red, Blue, Black, Hunter Green, Pink, Purple, Brown and Vaquero.
The rope you usually see used for halters and leads is typically nylon yachting rope and was never designed to withstand the unique challenges an equine application presents. Nylon rope stretches, can become stiff with use, increases in size over time and absorbs unwanted moisture. The 100% polyester rope used at Parelli has been specifically engineered with horsemanship use in mind. Parelli rope is dirt, sweat, mildew, rot and UV resistant. This means that your rope will stay truer to it's original form longer, without fading, stretching, popping or elongating.
Watch how to tie a Hackamore knot:
Pony/Weanling: Shetland, Welsh, and larger Miniatures.
Petite Arabians with tea-cup noses, larger ponies, and Quarter
Horse-type yearlings. If your horse's nose is much larger than your
fist, a Regular halter is recommended.
Regular: Most Quarter Horses, Paints, Thoroughbreds, Mustangs, Fell, Highland, Icelandic, New Forest, and Cobs.
Warmblood: Quarter Horses with large jowls, smaller Draft crosses/American Warmbloods, Trakehners, Dutch Warmbloods, Selle Francais, Fresians, Hanoverians, Holsteiners, Oldenburgs, Irish Drafts, Lipizzaners.
Draft: Percheron, Belgian, Clydesdale, Shire (or very large-headed horses).
Decided to try a hackamore after my sensitive right brained mare, Sky, was having trouble understanding the bit/bridle. I decided to try this hackamore, knowing that she had been ridden this way before. I chose this one because it was developed by Parelli so I knew it was well thought out. I like the reins and lead rope combo. We rode today and she LOVES it!! And so do I!! Best trail ride EVER!! I will never put a bit in her mouth again. Well worth the price.
I have had my Parelli hackamore since 2000 or 2001! It is still in great condition despite many miles and many washings. If the price is putting you off, don't let it! It is worth every penny and will last forever.
Love, love, love these hackamore's and so does my horse! I will NEVER go back to using a bit again. It's all I use.
I bought this hackamore over a year ago and the quality is excellent. I also own the halter and ropes, etc. and every one of these items are still in perfect condition. I can totally see the difference between these ropes and other brand ropes. They have nothing to do with each other. Do not get fooled by lower prices. Go for quality and you will only need to buy it once. It will last you forever.
I ride endurance and have been for 9 years , and only in my Parelli Hackamore, works great on my arab. I have started my young horse and he also only needs the hackamore. Love the weight and feel :-)
I love this hackamore and feel just as safe riding in it as I do with a bit! The online savvy has really helped Wickles learn to be responsive with the softest touch of the halter and it has transferred beautifully to our freestyle savvy. It is a great way to build your relationship and this hackamore is very durable and weather resistant. I've had mine for over a year and it still looks brand new!!!
I have had my hackamore for over 10 years. It has been great on trail rides to be able to jump off and have my horse on a line, especially if the terrain is difficult or rocky. My 2 daughters have practiced their one rein stops with safety while I held the line the hackamore provides. I have thrown it in the washing machine many times and it still looks good. Highly recommended.
I LOVE this hack, even though I was mostly going in the cradle bridle, I bought this at Pagosa to use for trail rides, and my horse LOVES me for it. Who needs a lot of headgear for freestyle trail riding?? This Hack gets the job done, and I love that I don't have to bring a halter and leadrope with me.. its included in my bridle! The rope is the same as the 22, but without the snap and the halter is almost the same as a regular halter. Its perfect trail riding headgear.
This product is so functional and my horses love them. My new mare who was broke for racing before I got her - gets stressed out when you put a bit in her mouth - she loves her Parelli hackamore and goes calm and quiet with it. No rubs on her face! Nice , excellent quality product.
I bought my Hackamore back in 2005 at a tour stop, and it still looks great after nearly 6 years of use! The halter part is just like the regular halter you would use on the ground, and the rope is nearly the same as the 12' line (it just doesn't have snap!). It is definitley nice to use when your horse gets a little right brain while riding. You don't have to put the halter and line back on him! You just use the rope that is attached to the Hackamore. Although the rope is white, it is easily washable like the other lines. All you have to do is throw it in the washing machine with a couple towels or in a pillow case, and it will come out super white again! :)
We started my mare in this hackamore and she did great. Very forgiving and very rewarding for her.
I had such good luck with the halter , i bought the hackamore and the rope and my horse just is much more comfortable. He puts his nose down into it.
We use the hackamore on all of ours. Was amazed at the transformation in our horses when we went bitless.
I love this hackamore! Bought one back in 2004 when I started riding a really green Arab/Quater horse which my instructor told me to buy. I broke my 3 yr old in it and still ride in the hackamore as its all about the feel not about contact on the mouth. If I had the money I would love to buy two more of them for my other horses so I never have to use a bit while riding the other in the hackamore with a friend!
My horse moves better and is very responsive when we ride in a hackamore. The regular hackamore fits all horses from ponies to big 17hh horses!
I have a hackamore for each of my 4 horses. I also started my RBE as a 4 year old with the hackamore. My husband and I trailride alot and always get questions on how we can ride our horses in a halter. This has led to many discussions about Parelli.
The hackamore is very handy as it includes a 12' line and the reins.
My horse has never been fond of bridles or bits but as soon as I started Parelli and used the Regular Hackamore the riding and responsiveness was extremely different. He rides best when this is on him, he loves it and so do I!
I love the natural hackamores. I cannot believe how I managed to survive without one! It is so much nicer to ride in one of these and I love that it has a 12 ft line attached to it. It is sooo useful! My horse is so much happier in the hackamore and I feel so much more in control.
I've had my parelli hackamore for a couple of years now. I really love the feel of the rope and how well it has held up. It has helped it advance my communication skills with my horse.
The rope hackamore is a great tool to teach your horse while staying out of his mouth. It has a 12' line on it which can be let out to nearly 22' if needed for ground games. It isn't only for young horses, but it is great for trail rides, and other casual riding.
This is the perfect hackamore!! It fits just like the rope halter but with the added features of reins and mecate. This makes for the perfect partnership between you and your horse.
I never used a rope halter before starting Parelli and find it a much better feel for the horse and it is much lighter on their face. With this hackamore there actually is no need for anything heavier. Love it
I love my hackamore! It is such a versatile piece of equipment and is my "go to" head stall. During the cold winters it is a great alternative to putting a bit in a horses mouth. I also prefer it when trail riding year round as I can easily tie my horse and lead him using the 12 foot line. I know my horse appreciates it as much as I do.
Once you have ridden in this you will wonder why you ever bothered with a bridle! The rope rein are prefect even of little hands. Great in the winter as no cold bits for your horses or wet slippery reins for you! And when it gets dirty just chuck it in the washing machine, no tack cleaning!!!
I just bought 2 new hackamores and now I have for each horse one- and now it's possible to go together with my husband for a nice trailride or improve our freestyle riding. Also it is great, when we make a rest while riding through the Black Forest, we have always a Lead Rope.
I love my Hackamore my horse is so much lighter when i ride her in it i dont use anything else, I have washed it a couple of times by hand in hand wash detergent and dripdried it, it comes up like new
Leave it to Parelli to design a hackamore with a 12 foot lead rope. Versatile when riding and great when you need to get off and play on line for a bit. I used to wish for such a thing when trail riding, just to have a "get down rope". Now I have it all.
I use this almost always with one of my horses who came to me with bad experiences with mishandled bitting. She is comfortable, confident and responsive. It washes in a washer and looks like new--colors are bright; sweat comes right out. Really a terrific product.
This is beautifully constructed. Most important, it fits my Arabian. She's not tiny tiny, but most regular and cob halters and bridles are way too large. I was hesitant to buy this size because of that experience, but was more than pleasantly surprised. It doesn't slip down as we ride. Plus she looks so FINE in the red/white colouring against her dark bay colouring.
Perfect Hackamore for my bitless horses. great control without the nose rub!
Ci sono le taglie per questi tipi di capezze?..a me servirebbe una L
I bought the Draft hackamore for my wife for Christmas and she loved it! great quality. She has a 3 1/2 year old Clydesdale and there is lots of room for growing!
The warmblood sized hackamore was the perfect fit for my big headed 16.2 hh thoroughbred.
I love my hackamore, my horse is Quarter horse, Hanoverian cross, with a lovely big head and it fit him perfectly. I really enjoy riding with it and so does my horse, I love how light and responsive he is in it. The built in 6 foot line really comes in handy :)
I had been using a slightly too large rope halter. It was of the same rope as Parelli's, but could fit a draft sized horse pretty easily. Once I made the investment and bought a blue warmblood halter, my horse could tell the difference immediately. She lowered her head and licked her lips for a while and continued to do so as I led her around in her spiffy, well-fitting new halter. :))
This is a great learning tool-for me! My horses respond well to it and I've learned a lot about lightness using this bridle. This bridle does double duty as an extra in my trailer for those times when other bridles (or halters) fall down on the job!!
Never did I think that one day I could ride in a horseman's rope hackamore. Always used a bit. Then went through the old Level 1 with my Arabian Mare Sapphire. She was happiest when I didn't have to put a bit in her mouth. I rode her on trail rides, all through my neighborhood, and around the local arena; people would tell me how dangerous that was, but I just rode and showed them by example how a horse can be ridden and stopped with your body and not the hands on the reins. The rope hackamore taught me to be light with my hands.
The Arab alter fits my Peruvian perfectly. I really think this helps to obtain the best communication possible from the hackamore. The mecate lines feel great. They are easy to hold on to so you don't feel like you have to grip or they will slip and they are easy to slide through your hands when you need it.
